Shedding those extra pounds is no easy task. A regular exercise plan and a healthy diet are the cornerstones of any weight loss program. But sometimes a supplemental treatment can support your hard work and give you an extra edge. If you have been looking for a way to supercharge your weight loss efforts, you may want to consider Methionine Inositol Choline (MIC) injections, a non-invasive medical treatment that may help your body burn fat more efficiently. At Mending Roots we are pleased to announce that we offer MIC injections at our Cobourg location.
A Methionine Inositol Choline (MIC) injection consists of a formula of lipotropics, compounds that help break down fat. The primary compounds in the formula work to metabolize fat cells and assist in the elimination of stored fat deposits in the liver and body. Methionine is an essential amino acid, inositol is involved in proper cell formation, and choline is a water-soluble nutrient that supports proper liver function. Together they may encourage fat reduction.
MIC injections contain substances that help get rid of fats in the liver. It contributes to reducing fat production.
Clinical studies reveal MIC have other beneficial functions. It lowers cholesterol and lowers blood sugar levels. In addition, it has antioxidant and anti-cancer properties.
Methionine: It’s an amino acid that prevents fat build-up and removes it from the liver. It serves as an antioxidant as it eliminates heavy metals from the body. Similar to vitamin B12, it aids in relieving fatigue.
Inositol: It’s referred to as vitamin B8. Inositol is not a vitamin but a kind of sugar. It doesn’t dissolve fats; instead, it regulates your insulin and hormone levels. As a mild lipotropic agent, it breaks down fats and redistributes them in the body. At the same time, it reduces low-density lipoprotein or bad cholesterol.
Choline: Choline is referred to as vitamin B4. Like inositol, choline is not a vitamin but a nutrient. It speeds up metabolism and helps the body burn fat that keeps the liver healthy.
Enhanced liver health
MIC injections aid in removing fat and bile or toxins from your liver. As a result, your liver efficiently metabolizes fat. It also reduces fat deposits.

Inositol in MIC injections stabilizes your mood and reduces hunger pangs. Moreover, as your energy increases, you get to exercise and do your daily activities. As a result, you won’t feel sluggish, and your mood improves.
An untreated vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to neurological problems or pernicious anemia, which occurs when your body doesn’t have enough B12 to produce the amount of red blood cells it needs.
Vitamin B12 shots are typically the most common way to prevent or treat a deficiency. The injections are prescribed by and MD/ NP and administered independently by a RN or RPN and given intramuscularly, or into muscle.
If you are deficient in vitamin B12, then the injections are very effective at raising your blood levels.

It’s been suggested that there may be a link between low vitamin B12 levels and depression.
